Resources for You

We aim to build up many Christians and churches, not just people at City Temple. We make our resources available to anyone so that people might live fully as God intended

From One Generation to the Next

A few years ago, I asked a group of young Christians, leaders in their churches, about their best experience with a church.  Although they all attended very large churches, one by one they shared stories of smaller churches with multiple generations interacting freely with one another.  They experienced the blessing of knowing older Christians who cared for them, respected them, and helped them grow into healthy adults.  They were all surprised.  One woman even exclaimed, “Why am I going to a large church?!”  God designed the church so that all generations might work together to advance His loving rulership, so that they Gospel would be passed from one generation to the next.  The generations need each other, just as Paul and Timothy needed each other in the New Testament.

In this sermon series we will see how the Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to remain faithful to his calling and to lead the community where God has placed him. Today, as we learn these key lessons, we too can remain faithful to the calling of leadership in our lives. True leadership in this generation means inspiring others to remain faithful and steadfast, serving with integrity, and standing firm in your God-given purpose, even in the face of the challenges in our world.  Paul and Timothy encouraged one another, ensuring that God’s Kingdom would grow from one generation to the next.

We are joining together with the Chelsea Community Church, Edith Grove, SW10 0LB during the redevelopment of our building. Everyone is welcome.  See more information on our “Contact Us” page.
